Customer Success: Improving E&M Capture and Increasing Revenue

ARA Health Specialists (ARAHS) is a comprehensive, 63-physician multispecialty practice serving five hospitals, multiple ambulatory imaging centers, a vascular surgery center, an outpatient interventional suite, and a vein clinic across western North Carolina.
In healthcare revenue cycle management, timely and accurate charge capture is critical to the financial strength of any healthcare practice. Missed charges can lead to significant financial losses, operational inefficiencies, and missed revenue opportunities. To proactively enhance visibility and ensure billing completeness, ARAHS implemented Quinsite’s Charge Capture Audit—a powerful tool that integrates clinical and billing data to help identify missed charges, resolve potential exceptions and ensure that all services are captured accurately and efficiently.
Real Results
ARAHS uses Quinsite’s Charge Capture Audit to gain deeper insight into billing completeness and proactively monitor activity across the practice. One area of focus was cardiac overreads—secondary assessments of cardiac imaging performed for a local cardiology group.
Through enhanced visibility provided by Quinsite, the team was able to identify a trend in unbilled services. These cardiac overreads, which originated outside ARAHS’s standard hospital feeds, were documented in radiologist dictation but not making their way through to the billing workflow due to data feed limitations.
Quinsite’s Charge Capture Audit flagged these cases by cross-referencing dictation notes, ultimately surfacing more than 1,000 previously unbilled cardiac overread exams. With this data in hand, ARAHS worked with their billing partner to submit retroactive claims—successfully recovering more than $71,000 in collections.
Today, ARAHS conducts monthly reviews using Quinsite’s platform, exporting exception reports and collaborating with their billing company to close remaining gaps. This process ensures that all cardiac overreads are accounted for, provides transparency for both teams, and strengthens revenue integrity.
Beyond this success, ARAHS continues to rely on Quinsite to support workflow improvement and revenue cycle visibility—especially valuable as the practice transitions to unified billing and reading platforms following a recent acquisition.
ARAHS is also expanding Quinsite’s use to monitor services delivered under a separate Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with another physician group. Although these services are billed by a hospital partner, Quinsite provides oversight—empowering ARAHS to track activity and proactively identify potential revenue opportunities.
